Online Poker Room Review
Absolute Poker has a reasonable amount of traffic with some tables going even outside the Texas Hold’em section. Tournament traffic is pretty busy in sit’n’go as well as scheduled tournaments. The games appear to be very fast which might be in part due to that 9-seat tables are used rather than 10-seaters. Absolute Poker is endorsed by poker professional Mark Seif who also answers players' questions. There is quite a bit of general poker content on the web site and also some community functions. The promotions are excellent; there is a range of good cash bonuses as well as a lot of freerolls and special events. Support is unfortunately available via email only. I do trust that Absolute Poker is serious and dedicated enough that support works well anyway but it's always good to be able to communicate directly with customer service. The amount of online support information such as FAQ's is very good though so there is a good chance you can resolve many of the more basic question without even contacting anyone. In summary, Absolute Poker makes a serious and dedicated impression and I can think of no reason not to try it out if you like their selection of games.
Poker Network
This poker room is not part of any network. This is not necessarily a drawback as some of the best poker rooms with long track records and busy traffic are stand-alone.
Poker platform
The software used by Abolute Poker feels in some ways similar to the Microgaming client, both in ring games and tournaments, but it has a better finish so to say. It is kind of like what the Microgaming client of Prima Poker should have been like. The slider is less irritating, there is not as much erratic popping up of dialog boxes and above all multi table play is considerably smoother. You can play a maximum of three tables at the same time, although this is likely possible to set with parameters and not really a feature of the software.

As mentioned, playing many tables works very well with this client. You can clearly hear and see when it is your turn and the tables shift focus in a chained fashion. That is, if your input is required on more than one table, the other tables pop up in turn once you have acted on one of them. The slider is very smooth but it is very hard to type in values, something that irritates me quite a bit – especially if the slider is still not good enough to be the only means for specifying the bet size. Also, you can not just click somewhere halfway up to move the slider there, it slides slowly with each click so you really have to drag it. This could become frustrating when there is a lot of action going on at several tables.

The interface has some options that can be configured such as sound on or off (even volume), 2- or 4-color decks and so on. The graphics capability appears completely adequate although, in my taste, the graphics at Absolute poker is a bit too rich. There is nothing to complain about with the waiting list functionality except possibly that one can not enter waiting list on whole sets of tables at once.

You can see most relevant information about tables without having to open them and games can be observed without having to be logged in. The overview over available games and structures is fully adequate with all standard functionality such as sortable lists and a button for each game.

Overall this is a good client that and unless the shortcomings that are listed above are among those that you know kills you then you will probably like the Absolute Poker software.
