Online Poker Room Review
Poker Mountain started around new years 2004-2005 and the traffic is very low, at least so far. There is very little content on the web site, a couple of strategy links and descriptions of games is all there is. I find almost no promotions here although they state that their great promotions are part of what makes them the friendliest poker room online. Support is available only via email. If this poker room somehow picks up in traffic they might afford to market themselves a bit more but as it stands today it is hard to recommend this poker room.
Poker Network
This poker room is not part of any network. This is not necessarily a drawback as some of the best poker rooms with long track records and busy traffic are stand-alone.
Poker platform
The Advanced Global Applications software is used by Poker Mountain but since this site is very new (2005-01-03) it is possible that there will be more poker rooms with this client in the near future. It is a simple client, especially the graphical design, but it still good: clear and distinct controls and with a good overview over games and tables.

The lobby is, like the rest of the client, simple and distinct. There is nothing fancy here but on the other hand nothing that is hard to use either. The basic tabbed list view has an information area to the right and you can sort tables after any of the eight columns for tables. You get most of the information about the tables that you could want and expect but none of the extra information provided by some software such as rake and table stakes. You access the functions via

The tournament section is equally simple and easy to use. There are tabs that take you between the different types of tournaments: single table sit’n’go and scheduled multi-table tourneys. You get most of the information directly in the list and in the information panel if you select it in the list. In my opinion it is useful to also see the payouts directly here but this is not provided in this software, at least not before the registration is closed. Sit’n’go and multi table tournaments both have the same lobby from which you can register and unregister and see some additional information about the tournaments. Note that the elements that look like list column headers above the list of players when you open the lobby are in fact tabs! On a closer look there are column headers below these buttons but at least I didn’t realize this at once. Anyway, you get a lot of information about the tournaments here: play list, table list, payouts and blind- and break schedule. All of these lists are sortable where applicable.

Graphics are simple, not very pretty but clear. Slider ok but produces fractionsType option works well although you have to press enter to commit the bet amount to the bet/raise button. Increment buttons with different increment speeds that are useful. Buttons are large and clear but without mouse over effects. Player turn is indicated clearly and there are logical although not standard sound effects. There are check boxes that allow you to pre-define actions out of turn, only those that apply are shown. All options in the lobby are available directly at the tables under different tabs in the chat area. A variety of chat options can be set. I haven’t been able to test this software for play on several tables for the simple reason that not enough tables were going. Based on the controls playing on a single table I am guessing that it is above average for multi table playing. As mentioned, this room is very new so traffic might pick up over time.

All in all this appears to be simple and functional software. There is nothing here to be excited about but on the other hand much to be irritated over either.
